Soundness Evaluation
Dr. Cullen’s main area of expertise is performance horse evaluation. She has over 12 years of experience working with horses from a full range of disciplines and a lifetime of experience riding and competing them. She brings this knowledge to every horse she meets with an eye for lameness and how it contributes to whole-body mechanics.
Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostics are a key contributor to the diagnosis and treatment of performance-related issues in horses. Modalities like radiography and ultrasonography can provide answers and guide therapeutic plans to guide treatment success.
Pre-Purchase Examinations
Purchasing a horse can be overwhelming as much as it can be exciting. A pre-purchase exam is intended to provide a buyer with as much information about the prospective horse as possible in order to make an informed decision to buy. Dr. Cullen is adept at guiding a client through the process, providing real-time information to make sure the client is a part of the exam and decision-making every step of the way. C3 Equine also offers PPE consultations for clients that have PPE’s done elsewhere. Dr. Cullen will read the reports provided and evaluate any imaging and lab work to assist her clients in fully understanding the information provided.
Gastroscopy
It’s a well-known fact that the majority of horses in work have some level of gastrointestinal irritation. The symptoms can range from poor performance to very poor behavior. Utilizing gastroscopy to visualize the stomach and upper GI tract can prevent wasted money and time on ineffective supplements or treatments. Performing a gastroscope provides definitive information to create a targeted treatment and maintenance program for your horse.
Farrier Consultations
No hoof, no horse. It takes a village to keep our equine athletes feeling their best and that can only happen with shared communication, information, and expertise. The farrier-veterinarian relationship is one of the most important, but often overlooked, dynamics in the performance horse industry. Together, your team of equine professionals can collaborate and make sure the horse is in the best balance for them, inside and out.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, highly effective treatment for a multitude of issues facing the performance horse. Using sound waves, shockwave creates micro-inflammation at the site of injury and activates the body to deliver blood flow and healing to the area while simultaneously having an analgesic effect to calm the area while the healing occurs. C3 Equine proudly uses the PulseVet shockwave to deliver high-quality treatment for a range of soft-tissue and bone-related injuries.
Regenerative Medicine
Intra-articular therapy is often the backbone of performance horse medicine, but recent advances provide so many more options for treatment than just the tried and true corticosteroids. C3 Equine employs the latest in regenerative therapies including Pro-Stride, PRP, IRAP, and stem cells.
